ComedyComedy is Back!

 Hey, ComedyComedy fans: The long wait is over! October ushers in new era of ComedyComedy at The Shrine!

    NEWS FLASH!  ComedyComedy is returning to Aurora – just not to the Roundhouse!  ComedyComedy has joined forces with The Comedy Shrine at 4034 Fox Valley Center Drive and is now producing shows in the stand-up theater there.  You can now “Like” our ComedyComedy at the Shrine Facebook page and you’ll soon have the option of signing up for e-mail blasts so that you’ll be the first to know of our show schedule and special events as they’re announced for our Grand Opening month of November. The Comedy Shrine has built a beautiful new venue that contains both an improv theater and the new ComedyComedy stand-up theater. It’s now the premier comedy club venue in the western suburbs!  

 Come out to one of our shows this week.  Monday night is New Talent night, showtime 8 PM, admission only $5; Thursday is our Best of the Midwest Show, featuring top regional talent. And Friday and Saturday nights we’re featuring national touring headliners. This week, October 7-8, we’re thrilled to welcome one of our favorite acts. It came from Iowa!  The outrageous – and hilarious! – DON REESE with special guest DANNY KALLAS and host BERT BORTH – Showtime Friday is 9 PM and Saturday night we have two shows  - 8:30 PM & 10:30 PM.

Coming up on Wednesday night, August 17th, it’s Ladies’ Night Out/Chicks Are Funny show with headliner PATTI VASQUEZ, recently featured on TBS’s The Very Funny Show, and special guest TIFFANY ELLEN – at Ashbury’s in Bolingbrook. Martini and wine specials – Should be a lot of fun!  Tickets only $12!

NEWSFLASH: Roundhouse now Two Brothers Roundhouse

Hi, I’m Bert Borth and welcome to BorthBeltComedy.com . . . . America’s Historic Roundhouse, formerly Walter Payton’s Roundhouse, where I’ve been producing comedy shows as ComedyComedy for the past six years, has been purchased by Two Brothers Brewing Company and is now Two Brothers Roundhouse. The brothers, Jim and Jason Ebel, officially took possession of the historic building yesterday (June 8th) and the business will be closed for the next couple of weeks to make some changes and plans are to reopen on June 24th.  What exactly this means for ComedyComedy remains to be seen though I hope to continue doing shows under the new ownership.

The Roundhouse had been floundering for quite some time and the consummation of this deal is a welcome relief from what had turned into an extended and seemingly endless state of limbo.  I look forward to seeing this remarkable structure recapture it’s previous glory! I’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.

In the meantime, we’ll continue to have shows at other venues. The next one coming up will be at Wheatstack in Lisle on June 18th when Comedy Night will feature co-headliners Dwayne Kennedy and Ken Sevara, hosted by yours truly.
